Fabric 45: Omar S Detroit

Email Print

OmarSFabric45Since the turn of the century Fabric have consistently spat out those DJ mix comps in those not-so-handy cigarette tins with the hole in the middle, most of which have been all a bit 'eh-whatevz' ... yeah? However a sweet surprise awaits with the most recent instalment, as Detroit underdog Omar S lays down a mix made entirely of his own productions, all tracks licensed from his own FXHE imprint (a sterling idea when it come to claiming on royalty credits, no?). Yet unlike the mind-numbingly boring efforts by technoid asswipes Ricardo Villalobos & Ellen Allien, both produced in a similar vien - Omar's seamless blend of detroit tech and hypnotic house make this CD an essential purchase, Great for applying the mascara before heading out to the dancehalls, but even more perfect for the post-disco cigarette sessions. You can almost buy it now babes ...
